Data Collection Servers |
|
The My Data Collection Servers section is where you manage the addressing and directory configuration of the boxes you run. This gets established at the time of initial setup, and is unlikely to change much after that. If you run multiple, load balanced JDCs, this is where they are managed. (See Load Balancing in the Data Center section).

Configure Server
Server Name: Enter a simple name to remember which server is which.
Server Domain Name or Address: Enter server's Domain Name or IP Address. For flexibility, we recommend that you use Domain Names for your servers, however, the JDC also needs a way of specifying which slave Server it wants to communicate with.
Dataset Directory: Internal path to directory where server records JDC data. E.g. /var/www/html/slave.
CGI-Bin Directory: Internal path to cgi-bin directory. E.g. /var/www/cgi-bin

Remove Server
Removing a server takes it out of rotation. A JDC server should be removed only after any load balancers have been configured not to point at it. If a load balancer is still pointing at the server, it will continue to collect data, but none of that data will be rotated into .NLF files for access by the Pro Processor. (See Data Center for more information on load balancing).
