Rotation

On a scheduled basis, the JDC will copy data from the Access.log file into the .NLF and .CTC files and perform various other tasks to update the archived data and normalize the dataset.  At this point, the Access.log file is cleared, and continues to collect new requests.

Though the copying of data from the Access.log is nearly instananeous, (no data is lost in this process), the remaining tasks involved in rotating data can take a considerable amount of time.  Care should be taken to ensure that the scheduled downloads of the Pro Processor do not overlap with the rotation schedule of the JDC.
